SPORTS BED IN A BAG SETS FOR GIRLS

GO HERE!

Shopping for sports bed in a bag sets that will appeal to a girl’s sense of style may stretch a decorator’s imagination and maybe a parent’s decorating budget. Most sports bedding sets are clearly aimed toward boys. A modern girl’s bedroom would be fine with a comforter or duvet cover printed with soccer balls and baseballs (softballs) but it’s rare that footballs are omitted from the mix. And most tweens or even preteens would not be tickled pink with a room decorated with footballs and SEC emblems at this stage of the game.

Once the young lady enters high school or registers for college, she might decorate with her school’s football team mascot or logo but before that day arrives, the sport of football will most likely be off the radar. This creates a decorating dilemma unless:

  • a set of solid color bedding is acceptable
  • you are willing to pay for a set of custom sports bedding in colors for girls
  • you can find yards of sports fabric and make your own

Girly girls who are involved in fast pitch softball, basketball or soccer may want a place to display their trophies on wall shelves and to arrange their framed team pictures on the wall just like boys. But it would be so nice to find inexpensive sports bed in a bag sets on clearance sale with a soccer design in feminine colors? Aren’t there enough girls involved in team activities to merit cute bedding sets in pink, lavender or yellow so that they don’t have to settle for boys sports bedding and comforters?

ASIAN BEDDING - ASIAN BED IN A BAG COMFORTER SETS

GO HERE!

You may be amazed at how many comforters are now classified as Asian bedding. There’s your Asian inspired bedding and comforter sets with ancient Chinese symbols combined with cherry blossoms or purple lotus flowers as well as those with classic or traditional Asian colors that are predominately red, black with gold accents.

In the past, my Asian bedroom decorating ideas for teens leaned toward the floral prints with pastel colors and orchid prints. It was my belief that for the young lady in her early teens, delicate designs and watercolor print fabrics were more appropriate than the dramatic, red and black color combinations.

However, today as we are well aware; anything goes in the world of teenage bedroom décor and bold color schemes in the bedroom are the very least in the list of issues facing the mothers of preteen and tween girls. In fact, sexy colors in their young girl’s bedroom décor might one of the first compromises a modern parent is willing to make when making deals for good behavior which will trump good taste on every mom’s bargain table in my decorating experience.

One area where mothers often can’t make concessions is on price; expensive Asian or oriental style bedroom decorations are often beyond reach when the budget is tight. Even if you find your Asian bedding or bed in a bag set on clearance sale, it’s a challenge to work with this style of décor and keep the price tag for the overall design in a reasonable price range without the risk of the room looking cheap or cheesy. For decorations to compliment a teen girl’s Asian bedding or bed in a bag set, you may get by with items purchased in a store specializing in Asian party decorations or an import store and painting a basic dresser with shiny black lacquer paint. For an attractive adult bedroom in this style, I would include at least one piece of antique, oriental style furniture that will give the room a dignified atmosphere.

COOL CLEARANCE BED IN A BAG SETS

GO HERE FOR MORE!

I have recently run into some prejudice against bed in a bag in a bag sets. So much prejudice in fact that I wanted to address some of the myths surrounding these fashionable, decorating resources which even at full retail price are often offered at less than half the cost of some comforter sets on clearance sale.

Flowers And Ladybugs

Quilted Flowers

I was recently decorating a daybed in a dorm room for a teenage girl whose mother had indicated to me that she wanted bedding set that was:

a. Constructed from fabric that would hide the inevitable stains that were bound to happen

and

b. Inexpensive because she didn’t want to invest a lot of money in a comforter set that would more than likely be replaced at the end of her teen’s first semester at college either due to her daughter’s desire for a complete bedroom makeover or the need to wash the comforter so many times that she felt the colors would be faded and in need of replacement.

I didn’t dig too deeply into her reasoning behind the need to avoid high end, expensive bedding and décor as we were working with a college dorm room and not a bedroom in her home even though I already had pictures in my mind of a tropical, beach theme bed in a bag comforter set that I knew her surfing fanatic daughter would adore. Besides, when one of my customers says that she wants to base her decorating ideas around bedding for teens that is bright, color but cheap immediately begin to take a mental inventory of cheap bed in a bag sets with comforters that tweens and teens will think are funky and cool.

After taking a few notes regarding her decorative preferences, I told her that I felt that we could get a clearance bed in a bag comforter set for less than $100. If we played our cards right and hit the sales just right we might even be looking at less than $50! It would be an understatement to say that her face fell when she heard that the best idea I had in my bag of decorating tricks was a lousy discount bed in a bag comforter set. She quickly related to me that it was her understanding that these sets were made of flimsy fabrics that were said to be washable when they actually would look so awful they had to be replaced after the first trip to the laundry.

Fast forwarding to spring break of last year; my customer was so impressed with the performance of her teen’s bed in a bag that had not only made it past Christmas vacation but was still cute as can be at the beginning of spring break that I realized that I outfoxed myself on this deal! Not only was the bedding stylish and durable, but so much so that my customer was not interested in my trendy, new teenage girl bedroom decorating ideas for spring and summer. With the end of summer clearance sales going on, I’m just about to make a phone call to see if that cheap, clearance bed in a bag set from last year needs to be replaced yet.

SOPHISTICATED WALL PAINTING TECHNIQUE and DECORATING IDEAS

Nouveau Flower

Wall Decal

Buy at AllPosters.com

I love cool and interesting wall painting techniques and sometimes I find them where they are least expected. While cruising around in search of some funky flower wall decals this gradiated red and black wall almost faded into the background. Don't ask me what made me look deeper into the picture past the leather armchair and the flower decals that weren't the wild colors that I was interested in at the moment, but I'm ever so glad that I did.

What fun it would be to try your hand at such a sophisticated, muted gradiation of colors. A wall that seems almost airbrushed by design projects such a peaceful atmosphere. I can picture a wall painting technique using a black glaze over a deep Chinese shade of red in a teenage girl's bedroom with a black comforter and a spray of cherry blossoms in silhouette or some Asian lettering decorating the bedroom walls as a focal point to the side of a conversation area, over a dresser or taking the place of framed artwork over the headboard of the bed.

PINK AND GREEN BOHEMIAN PATCHWORK BEDDING for TEEN GIRLS

GO HERE!

Pink and green color schemes don't end with summer. Funky paisley print fabrics in these colors can keep the attitude of springtime alive year round when done with the right attitude. And the mood I'm in at the moment is bohemian. That's right, I'm not ready to relinquish my rope sandals and broomstick skirt even though the fall breezes are blowing my skirt and making my toes slightly more chilly than I can appreciate.

We can't turn the tide of the changing seasons, but we can use some clever decorating ideas and tricks to create our own little boho world where we get to call the shots.

Paisley

Funky, fun wall decals, paisley of course do a lot to spread the look from the inexpensive pink and green bed in a bag that we scored at the discount store. If you can't find colors that match your comforter, you can do some paisley stencils to give your walls their own unique brand of flower power.

For that matter, if your bedroom floor is less than modern and needs a makeover, scuff it, prime it and paint it in a solid color and stencil your designs in pink and green to match the rest of your teenage dream girl bedroom.

Pink and green bedding and bed in a bag sets tend to drop in price at the end of summer. Only the most hip and savvy teen girls know it's cool to decorate against the trends and pick up the best comforters at deeply discounted prices early in September. Who says that tweens and teens don't know the score? When it comes to funky bedding they know what's up and when it comes down to it, little else matters.
